Established in November, 2023 with the commitment of fostering scientific knowledge and
promoting innovation in the field of biomedical sciences. It is a pioneer research center of its
kind in Nepal. The laboratory’s core mission is to bridge the gap between basic science and
clinical practice by focusing on research that directly contributes to improving human health.
Our laboratory offers a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment where researchers
explore the molecular, cellular and physiological mechanism behind various diseases. We are
especially focused on developing novel therapeutic strategies and supporting drug discovery for
both chronic and infectious diseases.
Some of key ongoing research activities include:
1) Discovery of potential antidiabetic and antiobesity drugs using both in vitro
techniques and animal (mice) models
2) Cell- based assays to study the effects of compounds at the cellular level.
3) Mice breeding programs to support long-term research on disease mechanism and
treatment evaluation.
