The Faculty of Science (FoS) conducts multidisciplinary research and provides specialized analytical services to support scientific advancement and national development. The Faculty comprises seven research laboratories, two research support programs, and several national and international collaborative research initiatives.
Research activities within the Faculty span a broad range of scientific disciplines, including molecular characterization and DNA sequencing, carbon sequestration, environmental radioactivity, occupational radiation dosimetry, nanomaterials, chemical characterization of natural products, ex situ conservation of plant genetic resources, plant response modeling, biodiversity conservation, climate change, hydrospheric and atmospheric sciences, and water quality research and monitoring.
In addition to research, the Faculty offers a range of analytical and technical services to government agencies, academic institutions, industries, and the public. These services include water quality analysis, occupational radiation dosimetry, soil analysis, diagnosis of citrus greening disease, molecular characterization, and other specialized laboratory analyses.
